Things I Ate In General

This is a food blog that isn't always totally about food.

After some disappointing window shopping around 50th and France in Edina, MN I stopped into Sweet Retreat on my way back to the car. I’m a sucker for cupcakes, though the continuing cupcake craze means that, as my psych professors would say, “we are flooding the field.” If everyone sells cupcakes, they can’t all be good. 50th and France is the kind of neighborhood that would have a cupcake shop. Also, a Sprongs shoe store. Which is to say, I was skeptical. I got a s’mores cupcake for my mom and a peanut butter cupcake for myself, chatted with the girls working behind the counter, got back in the car, photographed the cupcakes, drove home, and dropped the box they were in on the floor, smashing the frosting to hell.
Ultimately, my point is that they were the best cupcakes I have ever eaten, mostly due to the cake being perfectly moist. View high resolution
