Things I Ate In General

This is a food blog that isn't always totally about food.

Not At All About Food

I’ve spent the past few days in Palm Springs attending Camp Mighty. In this time I have: made a balloon animal, sprayed a fire extinguisher into a field, learned how to throw a punch, learned how to make punch, gotten a Mondrian painted on my hand to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, sipped Tang cocktails while dressed as Amy Pond, had my picture taken for a street fashion blog, sat in a hot tub in the rain, and more!

Yesterday I stood up in front of a group of people I’d only recently met (and my mom) and explained the five Life List items I’d like to focus on over the coming year. I picked things that felt concrete and doable, with the idea that crossing off some tangible things would provide momentum for tackling harder, more amorphous items.

This has been a great, overwhelming, weird whirlwind that I don’t think I’ll be able to accurately reflect on for a while. Maggie and Laura and the rest of the Camp Mighty team did an extraordinary job organizing the event. The people at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs did an equally amazing job of making the whole thing run smoothly. Though I felt like a fraud several times over the course of the weekend (for being the youngest person here, for writing a tiny blog, for not networking or socializing enough), I am so glad to have been here. Now, on to San Diego.
